Strayer Chapter 22 (pp 675-688)

The Cold War. The main location for this war was in Europe due to the extension of communism in China, Korea and Vietnam for security concern. The major cold war conflict twas in Afghanistan. The Marxist party took over in 1978 and the conservation of muslim women began a opposition movement. One of the most interesting battles were between Cuba because it was the first cold war era that did not happen. With the pressure going on it pushed them to be closer to the Soviet Union. They developed missiles in Cuba and the United States almost invaded Cuba. "World War II and the cold war provided the context for the emergence of the United States as a global superpower, playing a role that has often been compared to that of Great Britain." (Strayer 678) At the end of this all I believe the cold war was basically an agreement with USA and the USSR.
